Description of sequences producing significant alignments to Homo sapiens.

Description of sequences producing significant alignments to Xenopus tropicalis .

The BLAST results show p38⍺ in all 6 species are similar and have a catalytic domain of the Serine & Threonine Kinase (STK). It catalyses the transfer of phosphate from ATP to serine/threonine residues to protein substrates. The results also p38⍺ has several binding sites including ATP, lipid and polypeptide substrate, a KIM docking site and an activation loop. The position of these binding sites are different to other paralogues.
